About The Artist
Lalit Sharma is the sixth generation Pichwaii painter of Nathdwara. Pichwaii's are a kind of pigment painting that is done on cloth. His painting inspiration has always remained Udaipur, the architecture, the streets, folk-life, and culture. Even Aravallis have inspired him a lot to paint. All these effects can be witnessed in his paintings properly. His use of colors and the techniques are that of Mewar paintings. He has received many prestigious awards, including the Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi three times. He has also received the AIFACS award and a Gold Medal from Tulika Kalakar Parishad. He has had various solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad.
