GVK Group first introduced pre-laminated particle board in the Indian market in the year 1979. The novopan industries limited coming under GVK Group has now emerged as a major manufacturer of pre-laminated particle boards in India. Apart from particle boards, novopan also manufactures furniture and chemicals. The company uses technology developed by Fahrni Institute in Switzerland to manufacture prelam particle boards. The particle boards are specifically made for use in Indian furniture and other applications suited for Indian conditions.

Novopan operates three manufacturing facilities. One manufacturing unit is located in Patancheru and another is located in Mahaboobnagar district. A resin manufacturing unit in Patancheru churns out thermosetting resins for particle board manufacture.
The machinery used to manufacture the laminates is imported from popular German companies such as Siempelkamp, Vits, Dieffenbacher, Palmann, etc.
Features of the novopan prelam particle boards

Size and thickness of particle boards
The novopan sheet comes in a plethora of sizes such as 10’ x 6’, 9’ x 6’, 9’ x 3’, 8’x6’, 8’ x 5’, 8' x 4', 8’ x 3’, 7’ x 6 ’, 6’ x 4’, 6’ x 3’ and 6’ x 2 ½’. The thicknesses of the particle boards can be 9mm, 12mm, 18mm, 25mm and 35mm.
A prelaminated novopan board can either have only a single decorative surface or decorative surface on both the sides. The surface finish can be natural teak, royal cherry, wenge, silver grey, gothic grey, warm grey, vancouver maple, electric blue, metal grey, bavarian beech, etc.
The prelaminated particle boards are suitable for partitioning, paneling, flush doors, racks, panel doors, tables, etc. They can also be used for furniture pieces such as kitchen cabinets, computer and lab tables, dining tables, shelves, writing desks, dressing tables, wall units, etc.
