{"id":24969,"date":"2017-06-13T16:44:37","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T11:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mccoymart.com\/post\/?p=24969"},"modified":"2022-07-22T11:26:28","modified_gmt":"2022-07-22T05:56:28","slug":"aecom-design-three-runway-system-hong-kong-international-airport-hkia-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mccoymart.com\/post\/aecom-design-three-runway-system-hong-kong-international-airport-hkia-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Aecom to design the Three-runway system at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), China"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mccoymart.com\/post\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Hong-Kong-International-Airport-1.jpg\" alt=\"Hong Kong International Airport\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Aecom,\u00a0an American multinational engineering firm that provides design, consulting, construction, and management services to a wide range of\u00a0projects, has been awarded the contract to design and construct\u00a0a new passenger terminal as part of the HK$141.5bn (US$18.2bn) Three-runway System (3RS) being built at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) in China.<\/p>\n<p>The new terminal will\u00a0cover more than 3,000,000 square feet of area with the ability to park 57 aircraft while\u00a030 million passengers a year when combined with the forthcoming Terminal 2 (T2) expansion project.\u00a0It is also going to be built with keeping in high regards, the\u00a0sustainability\u00a0standards; the courtyard will have a spread out landscaped area in the centre and the extensive use of natural daylight will cut down the energy consumption costs. The construction has already started and is aimed to be completed by 2024. Aecom is also going to conduct\u00a0research\u00a0and benchmark studies that will help the design team in increasing efficiency. The study and research done will keep in mind the trends in retail and advertising in the future as well as the\u00a0information technology and airport systems.<\/p>\n<p>Sean Chiao, president of Aecom Asia-Pacific, said, \u201cThe airport is an important symbol of any city, and we are extremely pleased to continue making HKIA the pride of Hong Kong.
