Each floor is said to have been occupied by three to four families. Witnesses for the event said that they only heard a loud sound and two minutes of screams of people from inside the collapsed building. The building crashed vertically; had it crashed diagonally, there could have been more casualties. The building was an RCC structure and currently search operations using search cameras are on to find survivors.<\/p>\n
This incident once again brings to light, the issues of negligence by the government authorities to maintain or bring down structures which have surpassed its age.<\/p>\n
