Bhopal’s biggest convention centre, hailed as the Rabindra Bhavan Convention Centre has been commissioned to be built on the 5.2 hectare premises of Rabindra Bhavan.

The centre is expected to house a mini auditorium, meeting halls, banquet halls, art galleries, interpretation centre and libraries. It is also going to have the biggest auditorium in the entire state with a seating capacity of 1,500 seats and would be located on the first floor of the building. It will come attached with two green rooms, four rehearsal rooms, two relaxation rooms and sound and light control rooms. The mini auditorium would seat 200 people and would be placed on the ground floor alongside rooms for two meeting halls, three banquet halls, three conference halls and interpretation centre.
The facade for the structure would be in sync with the already existing Rabindra Bhavan with its total carpet area as 10,000 sq metres. The total cost of the project is Rs 33 Crore and is being helmed jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Directorate of Culture, MP under Tagore Cultural Complex scheme.
It is expected for completion by the end of 2018.
