Lt. Governor of the islands of Andaman and Nicobar, Jagadish Mukhi, has started the construction of a two-lane bridge over Humphrey Strait. An official spokesperson has confirmed that after decades of dreaming about the project, the bridges are finally turning into reality, easing the commute for the locals. Middle Strait and Humphrey Strait are somewhat of an obstacle for the people of the Andaman and the Nicobar Islands, especially the ones far off. Vehicles are transported, currently, to reach and fetch people for them to come to the north and middle of Andaman which can take around three hours. With the project in place, it would not only reduce the travel time by a considerable amount and bring relief to the people but also help the armed forces to move during any emergency outbreak.
