Keeping up with the smart cities projects boom in the country, the latest to join the band is Kohler. It is planning to expand it’s operations in the country in more than 80 cities in the coming three years’ time, getting itself a total of around 200 nation wide offices. President, Kohler South Asia, Salil Sadanandan, believes that the maximum growth for their company is going to come in from tier Ii and tier III cities. An increase in the economic conditions, subsequently increasing their lifestyle quality and demands is touted as the reason. The company is partnering, currently, with 400 retail outlets which is hopes to increase by 300 in the next three years. They are also focusing on the commercial sector at present. Even though the initial costing is high, the introduction of the goods and services tax (GST) is also expected to increase the boost, since the cumbersome tax calculation for the manufacturers and dealers becomes one. The company recently inaugurated their first Kohler Experience Centre in the country and is aiming to open 9 more of them across the world.
